26 Sushi & Tapas serves kosher Japanese-Peruvian cuisine

On a recent Sunday afternoon excursion to Surfside, I found another kosher gem in the heart of bustling Harding Avenue: 26 Sushi & Tapas. Open since 2014, the number 26 in the trendy restaurant’s name signifies the numerical value of the Hebrew word for “God.”

The Latin-Asian fusion restaurant that features Japanese-Peruvian cuisine was the perfect choice for an early evening dining experience that combines two different cultures to create what has come to be known as the Nikkei.

Owned by Morris Kaplan, the restaurant’s chic ambience and delicious menu choices will appeal to diners of all tastes.

“The imaginative cuisine keeps our loyal fans engaged and gives people who haven’t tried us yet a great reason to come,” Morris said.
