Big bear cookies (3905 E. 96th St.) has scheduled its long-awaited grand opening for July 13.

Never again, an Edgar Allen Poe-themed bar and restaurant with a variety of dining areas, opened inside Union Station. The expansive space includes seven bars offering unique specialty drinks, a bowling alley, cafe and juice bar for guests arriving before dinner, and themed rooms.

West Fork Whiskey (1660 Bellefontaine Street.) is hosting a Summer Hog Roast Saturday at noon for 21+, featuring dishes from its new executive chef, Carlos Salazar. The $20 ticket includes pork, two sides and a soft drink. BYO garden chair.

The Indianapolis Opera House hosts its 12th edition Lobster Palooza July 17 at Daniel’s Vineyard in McCordsville. The evening will include a cocktail reception, lobster dinner and live music from the Dean Martini Band. Tickets are available for $200 through July 8 on the opera’s website.
