Living near St. Peters, Ashley and Trey Dorman have always loved the Cottleville area; so when they were ready to move, they decided to build a new house there. They chose a quiet backyard development by Lombardo Homes and closed their new home in December 2016.
“We wanted more space and a different style, a flat yard and an open plan,” says Ashley. “With Lombardo, they let us personalize everything.
The four bedroom, three and a half bath home is the perfect layout for their busy family of four with a main level suite and second floor bedrooms separated by a jack-and-jill bathroom for their two daughters. , Kinley and Gia. The open concept offers a spacious living room with high two-story ceilings and a wall of windows overlooking the pool, as well as a chef’s kitchen with a huge center island and an everyday dining area.
A formal dining room with a striking recessed ceiling sits off the entrance hall opposite a private home office separated by sliding barn doors. The fireplace features a cross-patterned hardwood floor with inlaid tile, creating an instant impression.
Beautiful details like scratched hardwood floors, stone to the ceiling above the fireplace, built-in lighted shelving, and an ornate arched double entry door are on display throughout the ground floor. The Dormans also added some special touches, including working with a neighbor who tiles to create a striking backsplash above the stove and surrounding the refrigerator in the kitchen.
