“Pan-Asian” cuisine is a “welcome” addition to town
AN ambitious fusion of cuisines will diversify a city’s leisure offer after the opening of a restaurant offering a range of “Asian” dishes.
The new restaurant, which is called “Wasabi Pan Asian” on Facebook, but just “Wasabi”. on the front of the shop, opened onto Ulverston’s Cavendish Street, within sight of The Coro theatre.
It has been well received by locals and business owners in the city, who have been enthusiastic about the prospect of a more exotic food offering seconds from The Coro and minutes from The Roxy leisure establishments.
Offering a range of tapas-style “small plates”, including chicken satay skewers, Korean fried chicken, grilled cauliflower steak with peanut sauce, as well as traditional entrees such as Thai green curries and katsu chicken, the restaurant will serve a different niche to many of Ulverston’s current dining establishments.
From sushi and gyoza to elegant cocktails, the new restaurant will cater to a different niche than other restaurants in Ulverston, bolstering its growing culinary appeal.
Ulverston Business Improvement District Chair Michelle Scrogham said diners are already very impressed with the catering offerings at the new establishment and it is a welcome new addition to Ulverston.
She said: “I’ve had people tell me how amazing the food is – it’s definitely on my list to visit.
“He’s a very welcome addition to the city.”
Restaurant reservations opened on Monday August 15th for a midweek opening day, while the restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Customers on social media have already sung the restaurant’s praises, calling it a “great experience” with “superb” cocktails and “knowledgeable and caring” staff, while others spoke of their excitement at trying out the new establishment by themselves.
