Cornwall Street Fish Bar

Table service or take away, the Cornwall Street Fish Bar is one of the best fish and chips in Plymouth. One person went so far as to say it was better than fish and chips in Padstow!

“Good. What can I say? On first appearance I was a little apprehensive when entering the fishmonger’s as the pub next door seemed quite rowdy and noisy! My son and I decided to eat there and if i’m being honest this is the best fish and chips i’ve tasted and believe me i’ve eaten a lot of fish and chips i think the fries are triple cooked so stay crispy all the way and the batter on the fish remained crispy. Served piping hot. Fantastic…”

5. Cosmic Kitchen

cosmic kitchen

PlymouthLive is no stranger when it comes to Cosmic Kitchen, and it seems the rest of the city is either! This independent vegan restaurant has stolen the hearts – and stomachs – of Plymouth locals since it opened in 2019.

From a family of non-meat eaters: “The first visit we had booked a Sunday roast but for the next visit we selected from the menu which included moussaka, a platter to share and two wraps that came with garlic and herb fries. We really had a great time, some of the potions were so huge they were shared. As a vegetarian family, with two vegan members, it makes such a refreshing change to go out for a meal where nothing on the menu is off limits, so we will be back!”

Meat eaters: “I went for dinner and the food was so amazing! My friend and I are not vegan but the food lived up to expectations. Great atmosphere we were served by a waitress Harriet who was lovely. We spoke to the owner Gabriel who was lovely as well. Definitely recommend this place!”
